Who died? If someone close to you passed away, you would have probably known about it.
If you were listed in someone's will, they should have known your name by now. Why do they need your contact details if they already made contact? You see, they need the victim to reply, with at least a name, so that they can make the scam look more legitimate when they reply to the victim's response.
Update 17/09/2012
So we replied to Mr Heffner and this is the reply we got (we replaced the name of the investigator with Anonymous Nobody. Take note that the scammer cleverly used the last name of the investigator, in order to convince the victim that the so-called deceased had the same last name as the victim. As we mentioned before, this is only done to give the scam a more legitimate appearance)
Thank you for your email concerning the inheritance of mutual benefit. We have contacted you hoping that you will be able to handle this Transaction on our behalf. The details will be given on your response. I would want you to reconfirm the following information to enable us prepare the necessary documents that will enable you make claims to the Inheritance without any problem.
