If Green Tree Ltd really sent this e-mail, why would they use a sesmail.com account, owned by Edmond Johns, signed off Odis Wang? Only a 419 scammer is able to come up with a horrible mix-up like this. This is the very first sign that the real Green Tree Ltd didn't send this e-mail.
419 scammers sometimes use online recruitment agencies to identify possible victims for their fraud, in order to make the scam e-mail more targeted and official-looking. But the recipient of this scam e-mail wasn't a member of Monster.com, so this scammer simply lied to add some weight to his already ridiculous scheme.
...transmitting the payments to the Headquarters and subsidiaries of the company by means of instant Western Union payment system...
...Successful applicants will need to have a bank account to be used for the customer payments to be debited to...
...be paid on an interest basis (net 10% out of each customer payment you have dealt with)...
So you 419 swindlers call it a financial intermediary these days. They sometimes call it a company representative, regional associate or customer services associate. They love to use different job descriptions and often think of new ones to keep their scams fresh. But no matter what you call it, the job remains the same: You collect payments from their customers (the scammers will actually send you fraudulent/fake cheques to your postal address), deposit the cheques in YOUR bank account, keep 10% of the payments for yourself and wire the balance to the scammers. What they don't tell you is that the cheques will bounce and you will have to take the knock. If the cheques don't bounce, you become an accomplice to money laundering (oh and don't think the scammers will take the fall for you).
It just seems strange that the scammers got stuck on the 10% all these years (however some scammers love to use 8%). It just shows you how greedy they really are and how low they rate the intelligence of their victims. Odis Wang is so blinded by his greed that he can't even tell the difference between interest and commission.
Don't you find it kind of odd that a huge company like this can't even open its own bank account and appoint a trustworthy manager to manage their offshore investment? No, they rather put their trust in a complete stranger to deposit COMPANY FUNDS into his/her OWN bank account and transfer the funds to their headquarters? Do you really think their customers will make cheques out in the name of the "financial intermediary". No, off course not. Any organisation doing business with this company, will draw cheques on the name of the company, not their employees. So it is quite obvious that the payments will be fabricated.
The theft of website templates from legitimate companies, the hash buster text at the bottom and the payment collection procedure described above are all signs of a whole series of Job Representative Scams. Also refer to the Draper Investment Company Scam, Cronos Investment Company Scam, Harvey Investment Company Scam and the Sydney Car Centre Scam and notice the similarities.
